Arehucas

Destilerías Arehucas is a distinguished family-owned rum producer founded in 1884 on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria. Rooted deeply in tradition and history, Arehucas began as the ‘Fábrica de San Pedro’ sugar factory, transforming raw sugar cane into high-quality rum and quickly gaining acclaim. By 1892, their rum had earned the prestigious title of Purveyor to the Royal House and Court of Spain, a testament to its exceptional quality.

Arehucas is celebrated for producing rums that are matured in one of Europe’s oldest rum cellars, housing over 6,000 American oak casks. Their portfolio includes acclaimed aged expressions such as Ron Club 7 Years and Añejo Reserva 12 Years, known for their rich flavour profiles and depth. The distillery uses pure Spanish cane juice, predominantly hand-harvested on-site, and employs meticulous fermentation and distillation practices to ensure a superior spirit.

More than just a rum producer, Arehucas is a cultural landmark on Gran Canaria, welcoming over 95,000 visitors annually who experience behind-the-scenes tours and tastings at this historic site. The distillery not only honours its legacy but actively commits to sustainability and social responsibility.

Today, Arehucas stands as the largest spirits group in the Canary Islands, having expanded through acquiring brands like Artemi, and continues to grow its international presence. Known for its passion, artisanal methods, and deep connection to its Canarian roots, Arehucas invites rum enthusiasts to enjoy premium products crafted with over 135 years of expertise.
